Total disappointment Was really looking forward to getting this, particularly given this model now includes heart rate monitoring and more detailed sleep tracking. Opened box, set up Fitbit and proceeded to strap onto wrist.What you need to know is that the straps are attached to the Fitbit by a decidedly clumsy and fiddly pin mechanism. Unfortunately for me, I seem to have received a Fitbit with a faulty strap – every time I try and put it on, one side of the strap pops off, making the Fitbit totally…

Inspiring gadget I had my Fitbit alta for almost 3 years and loved using it. I wore it night and day and loved setting myself challenges each day to make sure I reached my goals. I also made friends with other Fitbit users and take part in challenges with them. I don’t use this as a weight loss tool and do realise that it is not going to be accurate but it is a useful guide to help you gain some fitness. Happy with mine, does what it’s meant to do and pretty well. There appear to be lots of negative reviews here but I’m not sure why, maybe people had unrealistically high expectations or they don’t fully understand the limitations of the technology. For example a device on your wrist cannot literally know if you’re sleeping or just resting but awake, even the significantly more pricey Apple watch can’t do that. Likewise it slightly overestimates with your steps but steps are not the only thing you should be focused on, the heart rate monitoring version…
